Trichocereus peruvianus seeds
It takes about a year for the seeds to produce roots and start growing, but once mature, the Peruvian Torch (Trichocereus peruvianus) grows very rapidly, about 10 to 50 centimeters a year.
Trichocereus peruvianus is closely related to the San pedro (Trichocereus pachanoi). It resembles the San pedro in form except for a lighter, bluish color and longer thorns (7-10 cm). It contains significantly more mescaline than the San Pedro, almost as much as the Peyote cactus.
